Kyle Eldridge and The Rhythm Rounders are a western swing, rockabilly, and vintage country band, started by Kyle in the spring of 2014 in Yellow Springs, Ohio. The group played many shows locally and regionally around the Ohio Valley. Eventually they found themselves opening for Nashville based folk band Woody Pines one night in Columbus, Ohio in 2016. Upright bass player Dakota Collins, nephew of rockabilly guitar legend Larry Collins from the Collins Kids, took notice of the group, impressed that they were playing not only some his uncle’s tunes, but a whole sound and style of vintage Americana that he loved and grew up on too. Dakota invited Kyle to come down to Nashville to play shows with him. Kyle took the leap and travelled to Nashville and played lots of shows with Dakota slapping bass. Kyle remained in Ohio but the boys would take up a residency playing the world famous Nashville Palace a few times a month for the entire summer that year, until eventually Dakota moved back to his native California and Kyle returned to playing shows in the midwest.
In 2018 Kyle was nominated for the Western Swing Male category at the 2018 Ameripolitan Awards in Memphis, TN. A few months later he travelled out to the west coast for the first time to record and to play the Viva Las Vegas rockabilly festival in Las Vegas Nevada. The boys teamed up with drummer Chris Story and recorded their self titled debut EP at Deke Dickerson’s studio in LA, with Deke recording and producing the band’s much anticipated first album, which will be released this summer. After the recording session, the boys hit the road and headed for Vegas where they played a week’s worth of showcases including being featured acts at Deke’s Guitar Geek Show and Hillbillyfest.
